DAY 1
Arrival In Islamabad (Altitude: 540M)

Overnight: Islamabad · accommodation agreed after enquiry
DAY 2
Islamabad → Skardu · flight or first road day
Take the planned domestic flight from Islamabad to Skardu, subject to operation. If it operates, transfer to your accommodation and keep any local visits flexible. If the flight is cancelled, travel by road to Naran when the Babusar route is open and suitable, or to Bisham via the Karakoram Highway, and stay overnight there. The onward road journey continues the next day; do not plan a same-day drive from Islamabad to Skardu.
Domestic flight and local transfers, or the first of two road-travel days. Route selection depends on seasonal access and road conditions.
Overnight: Skardu if flying; Naran or Bisham if travelling by road · accommodation agreed after enquiry
DAY 3
Skardu · arrival contingency and rest
If yesterday’s flight operated, use today for rest and flexible local visits in Skardu. If the flight was cancelled, complete the road journey from Naran or Bisham to Skardu today and check into your accommodation. Keep sightseeing light and begin the next itinerary stage tomorrow.
Second road-travel day when required; sightseeing is optional and depends on arrival time.
Overnight: Skardu · accommodation agreed after enquiry
DAY 4
Jeep Ride To Askole (Altitude: 3,048M)

Trek To Paiju (Altitude: 3,363M)
We will start early trekking from Bardumal and will arrive at Paiju by morning. When the sun is out there is a good flow of water in the river and to avoid that we need to start early. After an early start from Bardumal, we arrive at Paiju by mid-morning. The reason for leaving early in the morning is to help us to cross several side rivers when their flow rate is low. Paiju is a green oasis under the shadows of Paiju Peak (6,611m). From this camp, we have the first views of the immense Baltoro Glacier.
Travel mode: Trekking / walking. Distances and timings are approximate where stated in the programme.
Overnight: Paiju · accommodation agreed after enquiry
DAY 8
Trek To Khoburtse (Altitude: 3,568M)
Today is about the Baltoro glacier, starting from Paiju we will be walking on the Baltoro glacier. It is on a rocky moraine we will have to be very careful with our steps as the surface is not even. Trekking poles are a must. We will stop for lunch at Liligo which is the old campsite. After this break, we cross below the snout of the Liligo Glacier and back on to the Baltoro. We will have to stay together as the trail is indistinct at several places and chances of losing your way are easy so better to stay together and follow the trek leader.
Travel mode: Trekking / walking. Distances and timings are approximate where stated in the programme.
Overnight: Khoburtse · accommodation agreed after enquiry
DAY 9
Trek To Urdukas (Altitude: 4,130M)
The journey continues and we follow a lateral moraine next to the glacier. We descended down to Baltoro and pass two side glaciers. It is not a long day but at the same time not an easy day as we will be walking up the undulating moraine gaining height. However, the majestic views of Trango & Cathedral spires help us to forget about all the hardship and trouble. Mount Uli Biaho (6,005m) and Mount Biale (6,841m) can also be witnessed from this point. We camp at Urdukas today which is a very impressive place with a stunning view of Baltoro and other mountains. We are above 4000m and we will stay here for two nights to acclimatize.
Travel mode: Trekking / walking. Distances and timings are approximate where stated in the programme.
Overnight: Urdukas · accommodation agreed after enquiry

Overnight: Urdukas · accommodation agreed after enquiry
DAY 11
Trek To Goro 2 (Altitude: 4,250M)
Leave Urdukas and continue up the Baltoro Glacier towards Goro II. Follow the guide across ice and rocky moraine; the route is uneven and changes with glacier conditions. Camp on the glacier at Goro II. This is an onward stage from Urdukas, rather than a return to the same camp.
Travel mode: Trekking / walking. Distances and timings are approximate where stated in the programme.
Overnight: Goro 2 · accommodation agreed after enquiry
DAY 12
Trek To Concordia (Altitude: 4,600M)
Today we are higher on the glacier as we walk up the center of the Baltoro to Concordia. Concordia is where the Baltoro, Abruzzi, and Godwin Austen glaciers converge. Overnight: Concordia · accommodation agreed after enquiry
DAY 13
Trek To K2 Base Camp (Altitude: 5,150M) And Back To Broad Peak Base Camp (Altitude: 4,960M)
The wait is over today as we are going to be at the base camp of the mighty K2 today. Today we trek from Concordia to the base camp and the route passes through jumbled ice finds and mountain ridges. We will shortly reach the fracture zone where Godwin Austin glacier and Baltoro meet. After this conjunction area, the walking is on a flatter glacier towards a broad peak. After reaching a broad peak we will proceed to the K2 base camp. Upon arrival at K2 base camp, we will spend an hour there and trek back to Broad camp overnight.

Plan your K2 Base Camp journey
Mountain flights, road alternatives & international departure
When a mountain flight is cancelled, the road alternative is split over two days with an overnight in Naran when the Babusar route is open and suitable, or in Bisham via the Karakoram Highway. The same overnight arrangement applies when travelling north from Islamabad towards Gilgit or Hunza. Northbound road travel replaces local sightseeing or uses the arrival-contingency day shown in the programme. Return journeys reach Islamabad at least one calendar day before international departure, with an Islamabad hotel overnight. Confirm international flight times against this revised sequence before booking.
Season, access & pace
