The Rakaposhi mountain, a 7,800-meter-high peak, is the highest mountain and, probably, the most iconic from the Karakoram range which can be visible from the Karakoram Highway. It’s located in the Nagar Valley, in the north of Pakistan, and in the local language it means” shiny wall”. The Rakaposhi peak is the 27th highest mountain on Earth but is considered to be one of the most beautiful ones. Rakaposhi is notable for its exceptional rise over local terrain. On the north, it rises 5,900 metres (19,357 ft) in only an 11.2 km (7 mi) horizontal distance from the Hunza-Nagar River. There are views of Rakaposhi from the Karakoram Highway on the route through Nagar. A tourist spot in the town of Ghulmat (located in the Nagar Valley) called “Zero Point of Rakaposhi” is the closest view point of the mountain.

ISLAMABAD – CHILAS
Early departure for Chilas, driving on Karakoram Highway along River Indus.Overnight at hotel.

CHILAS – GULMIT
Drive to Gilgit and later proceed to Gulmit. Superb views of Nanga Parbat and Rakaposhi, en route.Overnight at hotel.

GULMIT – KHUNJERB PASS – HUNZA
Early departure for Jhunjerab, the highest point on Karakoram Highway, return to Karimabad. Overnight at hotel.

HUNZA
Visit Baltit and Altit forts. PM free.

KARIMABAD – MINAPIN – HAPAKUN
Early departure for Minapin village to start trekking. 3-4 hours trek. Overnight in Hapakun in tents.

HAPAKUN – TAGAFARI
Depart Hapakun for three to four hour trek to Tagafari. Overnight in tents.

TAGAFARI – KACHEILI
Depart Tagafar for two to three hour trek to Kacheili. Overnight in tents.

KACHIELI – HAPAKUN
Depart Kachieli for three to four hour trek to Hapakun. Overnight in tents.

HAPAKUN – MINAPIN – GILGIT
Depart Hapakun for a two hour trek to Minapin. This marks the end of our trekking advernture. From here we will drive down to Gilgit. Afternoon free. Overnight at hotel.

GILGIT – BESHAM
Early departure for Besham driving on Karakoram Highway. Overnight at hotel.

BESHAM – ISLAMABAD
Early departure for Rawalpindi Islamabad, visiting Taxila, en route. Overnight at hotel.
