This 13-days Gilgit-Baltistan photography experience is planned to explore some of the most panoramic and scenic landscapes of Gilgit-Baltistan Pakistan. Gilgit-Baltistan is a widespread region with matchless beauty having both snow caped and naked mountains, lush green meadows, cultural heritage sites, glaciers and many more . We have tried to cover most of them on this excursion.
This journey starting from the 2nd most beautiful capital of the world “Islamabad” moves into the 8th wonder of the world “Karakoram Highway”. The first spot of Gilgit Baltistan would be Chilas valley, then to Gilgit and up to Skardu then to Hunza valley and its beautiful surroundings. The trip provides an opportunity to get aware of the unique culture and heritage of Gilgit-Baltistan, and to taste fresh featured fruits along with the distinctive and tasty local dishes.
This voyage is for all those who are passionate about photography and nature . It doesn’t not necessarily need you to be a professional photographer, and we only take you to some of the best spots in the region with proper arrangements then it is on you to bring the artist in you.

Receiving the visitors at the airport. Dropping at the decided residence. After lunch a brief tour of the significant places of the capital like Faisal Mosque, Daman e Koh, Lok Virsa, etc.

The adventure sets on Karakorum highway reaches at Taxila, a brief visit to one of the stupa on the day. On the way a brief stopover the lush green valley, Abbottabad which is at a distance of 135km. After crossing the Mansehra, which is Mansehra District Capital in KPK province of Pakistan, the mission stops at the Splendid Scenic Naran Valley at a height of 2500 meters above sea level where Lunch with Local dishes upon the request of visitors will be taken. Photography at the extraordinary beautiful Lalusar Lake will be done. It is at a height of 3410m, surrounded by mountains onon all sides. Post crossing the Babusar Top the day ends at the exceptional Chilas Valley known for its tasty food. Dinner and night stay at Chilas. (In case of road blockade at the top, the alternative route of KKH will be continued)

Skardu, the valley of mountains, glaciers, and lakes is at 256.9km distance from Chilas. Thus, after early morning breakfast, the journey continues towards Skardu. The adventure becomes spicy with the rocky mountains on the way. The deserted land with lofty mountains and streams brings an elevated stage of mind. Lunch will be taken in Skardu, after some rest the first destination will be Kharpocho Fort, Also known as King of Forts, which dated back to the 16th century. The dinner and Night stay in the decided hotel followed by a cultural night upon the demand of tourists.

Followed by breakfast, the exploration begins. The mission heads towards the Kachura lakes. The upper and lower Kachura lakes are 8km apart. Upper Kachura at a distance of 27.7km from the city, a blue water lake surrounded by fruit orchards and mountains. The lower Kachura is also called Shangrilla which means Heaven on Earth. The Shangrilla resort consists of 70 swiss cottages which surround the lake. Lunch will be taken in one of the food resorts. Then the next destination will be the exploration of Buddha Carvings on the road to Sadpara, dated back to the 8th AD. They are in the Kharoshti language reflect the Ghandhara Civilization. The last journey of the day will be the Deosai National Park at a distance of 24.5 miles to the south of Skardu. It is home to the Brown Bear.

Post breakfast, a brief exploration of Skardu Bazar to get knowledge about the cultural heritage of the region. A walk to a nearby village and lunch with a local family. The next adventure will be towards the enchanted Sadpara lake, 8 km at the north of Skardu. This majestic lake is at a height of 8650m. According to the local folkways, there is a gold mine at the bottom of the lake which bestows perpetual shining to its water. From all sides, it is encircled by mountains. Dinner and Night stay will be at Skardu City.

This masterpiece of nature is at a distance of 111.4km from Skardu City. This valley is characterized by its meadows which host the large number of flora and fauna. Moreover, it also carries far stretched orchards which ensure the availability of different fresh fruits in different seasons. Khapulu palace will be thoroughly visited. It was constructed in 1840, currently, it serves two purposes a Luxury hotel and a center of Cultural Heritage. Khapulu’s old mosque will be explored next followed by Khapulu Bazar and Village. Night stay and Dinner will be at Khapulu.

The enraptured valley of Shigar is at a distance of 109.2km from Khapulu. The movement begins after breakfast. On the way to Katpana Cold Desert, which is unique in its features, a feeling of the desert in a green meadow. In the valley Jeep, Horse, or Camel Safari will be taken upon the demand of visitors. Shigar Fort will be thoroughly explored. Its local name is Fong Khar which means Palace on the Rock, now it has been transformed into a luxurious guest house. Ambrique Mosque of the 18th century comprises of the woodwork will also be visited. After the end of the adventure, drive back towards Skardu for a night stay and dinner.

Gilgit is 201km away from Skardu. There will be almost a full day drive to Gilgit. On the way stop for photography and refreshment. The journey will be on the Karakorum Highway. After arrival at Gilgit city, a brief exploration of the city Bazar, and the Yasani Budha. Dinner and night stay at the city.

Soon after breakfast, the exploration of Kargah Budha will be done. Then departure towards Hunza will be started. The magnificent tourist spot, the Hunza Valley is at a distance of 102.5 km away from Gilgit city. On the way, a stopover at the Rakaposhi viewpoint and the remains of the ancient Silk road. Dinner and Night stay at Hunza.

This mountainous, sedated and placid valley along the bank of river Hunza is the hub of natural abundance. The far-fetching fields of Apricots and grapes add to its haughtiness. Followed by breakfast, the first destiny would be Altit and Baltit forts at 3km distance from Karimabad, which are sited in UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List. Then a brief visit to Karimabad Bazar for cultural exploration. The next stop will be the Valley Nagir after tasting the fresh fruits at Hopper village in Nagir, the track towards the glorious Hopper glacier will be set, which is almost 12km in length at the opposite side of the valley, the cold breeze from frozen water will be a pacifist. The night stay will be at Hunza along with a delicious local dinner and upon the request of the visitors, a cultural night will be organized.

After getting refreshment from the early morning breakfast, The group will move towards The most distinctive Attabad lake, which has engulfed almost 18km of Karakorum Highway as a result of massive land sliding in 2010. Now the lake has its own traffic which takes goods, vehicles, and persons to the Hussainabad valley and back to KKH.after a hot cup of tea, the visit continues towards the enchanted Gulmit valley, which is the tehsil headquarter of Gojal ( upper Hunza). Gulmit means Valley of flowers which displays its unmatchable beauty. It is surrounded by mountains, peaks, and glaciers. Post lunch, a village walk will be arranged towards Kamarris up to Gulkin valley. Dinner and night stay at the Gulkin.

A whole day will be spent in this placid patch of the world. Which offers, flowery tress during spring and colorful land during autumn, lush green fields and meadows during summer, and snow-covered terrain during winter. Thus season brings a new beauty to the region. A deep cultural observation will be carried out while spending time with a local family, the night will be done in the home of locals. A cultural show with local hareep will be arranged upon the demand

Followed by a delicious local breakfast, the journey will set towards the Passu valley, it is at the junction of 3 mountain ranges, Karakuram, Hindukush, and the Himalayas.Passu cones or Passu Cathedral is a wonder of nature that is worth visiting. There will be a drive towards Hussaini Suspension bridge, where photography will be carried out followed by trekking towards Passu Suspension bridge upon the request of visitors. A brief visit to Passu glacier viewpoint for observation and photography. Night stay and dinner will be done in Hunza.

The journey will be set in KKH. Lunch will be done in Chilas, followed by a brief in scripted rock observation. The evening tea will be served in Pattan and the night stay will be at Bisham valley.

The adventure will again be on the trek after breakfast and the next stop will be the calmed valley of Manshera, where nature calls for solitude by spreading green carpeted hills with conifers. Lunch will be in Abbottabad and then the Dinner and night in Islamabad.

Description of Significant Areas:

This beautiful valley is 30km from the Capital. It remained the center of the Ghandhara Civilization during the first to eighth century AD. Therefore, it holds the ruins of the Buddhist era like Sirkap City, Bhamala Stupa, Dharma Rajika Stupa, and many more.

Naran and Kaghan:

The magnificent valleys at the heart of mountains contain plains and grass carpeted hills holding pine trees. Famous for dry fruits and handicrafts Especially skillful walnut carvings. Lake Saiful muluk is at 8 km on te Nort of Naran. Lake Ansu is situated beside Malika Parbat Mountain. It also offers the Glacial Shining Lalusar lake at the top altitude of Babusar top.

Babusar Top:

It is at a height of 4173 meters. It is one of the highest mountain passes which connects Naran to Chilas. Mostly, it remains open from July to September for traffic.


Karakorum Highway traverses this beautiful valley. It holds significance for two reasons. The first is the enchanted beauty of Fairy Meadows and the second is the Rock inscriptions which reflect the ruling eras of different invaders in the region. The different civilizations used it as a crossroad. The inscriptions belong to 8 to 16 BC. It also holds the carvings of Buddhism.


It is the largest GB district. It is 201km from Gilgit City. It hosts many wonders of nature like Deosai National Park which is at the south of the city at 24 miles. It is the home to near the verge of extinction Himalayan Brown Bear. The next important place is Kharpocho Fort also known as King of Forts dated back to the 16th century AD. The Upper and Lower Kachura lakes separated by 8km of distance provide the Shangrilla Fort unique in its construction. The Sadpara lake at the mountainous heart, the Buddha carvings 3 km away from Sadparah Nullah. The Khaplu palace, K2 base camp, and the Shigar Valley all are worth visiting places.


This divine land is present alongside the Hunza river, surrounded by statured mountains and Shiny glaciers on the extreme North of Pakistan. It is divided into Lower Hunza (Shinaki), Central, and Upper Hunza (Gojal). Its capital, Karimabad is encapsulated by three glorious mountain peaks named Rakaposhi, Diran, and Ultar. The two antique self-revealing forts Altit and Baltit are present in the suburbs of Karimabad. Starting from
