Itinerary:

Upon your arrival, our Crossroads Adventure staff will receive you at the new Islamabad International airport and you will transfer to the hotel. After a brief rest, we will explore the beauty of Islamabad, we will be visiting Faisal Mosque, Lok Virsa, and Pakistan Monument.

Today we will take a scenic flight to Gilgit and in case of flight cancelation, we will depart for Chilas by road. It would be a life-changing journey via the 8th wonder of the world, the magnificent Karakorum Highway. Best opportunity to capture clicks for the future. We will be experiencing the grand fiver Indus on one side and lofty peaks on another side of the rock, and yes the amazing lush green valleys in their organic form on our way.

We will drive to Passu today which is the base for the Batura glacier trekking. In case of flight cancelation on day 2 we will drive from Chilas to Passu via Karakorum Highway. In between stopover for the majestic view of a meeting point of three mountain ranges, the Karakorum, Hindukush, and Himalayas, and further the Passu Cones view.

Today is our first of trek and after an avg 5 hrs trek, we shall reach Yunzben and camp there. Gather your stamina, and prepare yourself for a thorough excursion of nature by foot. On our way we will encounter the graveled path and large rocks but as we ascend we will be relaxing our senses in another shade of nature, the pastures, and Juniper trees.

Yet another beautiful day of trekking. It again will be an avg 5 hrs trek and we camp at Ujhoupirt. After having our first night outdoor under the shining stars and cool breeze coming from the Glacier, we will further proceed upwards for our next destination, after an approximate 6 hours walk we will finally reach Ujhouprit, and encamp there for the night stay.

Today is about Yashpirt village, a place with incredible views and reliable water. What else you need other than the mesmerizing fragrance of wild roses, the lush green Junipers, willows, and tamarisks. After you walk for 45 minutes, you will get the first impression of the first ice Floe of Batura Glacier at a specific place called Kush Bel. Further 45 minutes trek will take us to Yinj Gar Dur where a cleft in a distinguished rock allows a stream to pass through it. The next 30 minutes trek will lead us to the Yashpirt (3302m). we will camp among the pastures, and huts surrounded by mesmerizing Juniper Forest. The rest of the day will be dedicated to photography, and sightseeing.

An enchanted trek begins soon after early morning breakfast. We will cross the ablation valleys with Juniper, birches, and willows, after 15 to 20 minutes of walk, we will reach Piyakh Sheet which is 3345m high from sea level which is known for a distinctive Polar Growth. Further, we will cross Fatima il Sheet, enjoy fill memorable views while trekking along a side stream. We will be passing through the wooden doorway, Werthum Nala which runs parallel to the Batura Glacier before for 7.5km then disappears under the Glacier, the Kukhil which is the center of livestock pens, and hillside huts, Shilmin its gave the unique name after the presence of cheerful purple flowers, and finally will reach Guchesham contains meadows with livestock pens and huts. We will encamp in this place while enjoying the spectacular views of the Batura wall.

Now, it’s time to trek back downwards, we will follow the same route which was taken for ascending. Special care is required, as you might be traveling on steep paths which will be slippery as being part of Batura Glacier.

The same route will be taken while giving full time to photography, natural exploration, and viewing the marvels of nature. The trek will be much easier than it was when we were moving towards the altitude.

After following the earlier route, we will finally reach the most serene valley of Hunza-Nagar District, the calmed Passu Valley. There is much more to explore in this magnificent place. Surrounded by high peaks, traversed by freshwater streams, occupied by terraced fields and fruit gardens, the beautiful valley has a lot to present. We will be having a village walk, and dine with locals.

Now, it’s time to explore the tourist hub of Gilgit- Baltistan, the enriched Hunza Valley. The capital of Nunza Nagar District is Karimabad (2435m).We will explore the Karimabad Bazar for a deep cultural exploration. The UNESCO’S enlisted Altit, and Baltit Fort, view the unparalleled Passu Peak, Ultra Peak, and the Kuksel Peak. On guest’s demand we can arrange for Ultar Meadow track for halfway or less. Night stay at Hunza.

After breakfast, we will depart for Gilgit city, the capital of Gilgit- Baltistan Province which is at a distance of 59.4km from Hunza, via Karakorum Highway. We will be traveling alongside the Hunza river. Excursion to the old Gilgit Bazar, explore the riverside picnic spots, and the Yasuni Budha. Night stay in Gilgit.

Description of Significant Areas:
Batura Glacier

Batura Glacier (57km long)is valued as one of the longest, and the largest glacier outside the polar ice. A great source of fresh water in Pakistan. It lies in the Gojal region of Gilgit-Baltistan, the extreme northwestern province of Pakistan, Batura is in the Hunza-Nagar District and the last human settlement is the beautiful Passu Valley (7500m). It is stretched from west to east. The lower portions are termed as a grey sea of rocks and gravelly moraine, bordered by a few summer villages and pastures which host herds of sheep, goats, cows, and yaks and where roses during the summers. The region has given enough space to the Juniper trees The trek to the Batura offers spectacular scenery including some 14 peaks higher than 7000 meters.

Islamabad:

It is the Capital of Pakistan since 1960. Since its foundation in the 1960s, Islamabad has attracted people from all over Pakistan, making it one of the most cosmopolitan and urbanized cities in Pakistan. Although it is only the ninth-largest city of Pakistan, together with its neighboring twin city of Rawalpindi, the greater Islamabad-Rawalpindi metropolitan area is the third-largest in Pakistan.
Islamabad is known as a relatively clean, calm and green city by Pakistan standards. It hosts a large number of diplomats, politicians and government employees. Islamabad is a modern, well-planned, well-maintained and well-organized international city on the Pothohar Plateau in the north-eastern part of Pakistan. It is regarded as the most developed city in Pakistan. 

Passu:

is a small village located near Gulmit in the Gilgit Baltistan region of northern Pakistan. Situated along the Karakoram Highway in Upper Hunza, Passu is a popular tourist destination because of its easily accessible sweeping landscapes, and vistas of the 7,478m tall Passu Sar mountain, the Passu Glacier, and Tupopdan 6,106m.

Karimabad:

Karimabad town, located on the west bank of the Hunza River, is in the Northern Areas of Pakistan, in a valley which is at 2,500m elevation. The town is made up of stone-walled steep sloping large terraces. The town was a caravan halting-place for people who were traveling through the Hindu Kush mountains to the Vale of Kashmir. It is set amidst snow-clad mountain peaks of Rakaposhi (altitude of about 7,600m), and glaciers like the Ulter Nala as a backdrop, and deep gorges. Access is by hill road from Gilgit.
