Hunza valley is often referred as heaven on earth.

Called as heaven on earth, the Hunza valley is a mountainous valley in the Gilgit–Baltistan region of Pakistan. Hunza is situated in the extreme northern part of Pakistan and it borders with China and Afghanistan. People of the area speak local languages such as BurushaskiWakhi, and Shina, however the native of the valley can speak English very well. The valley is divided into three parts called as lower, central and upper Hunza. The upper valley stretching to china border is also called Gojal valley.

People and Culture:

The people of Hunza valley have a rich culture, and they uphold themselves to and demonstrate the highest degree of pluralism.

People of Hunza valley are courteous, friendly, cheerful and helpful. They practice gender equity; you’d see women running shops along with men in addition to working as carpenters, masons, teachers, managers, entrepreneurs and what not. Even better, Hunza boasts one of the highest literacy rates in Pakistan.

The women of Hunza valley are known for climbing mountains, getting distinctions from the world’s top universities and setting examples in almost any profession. Their rich culture is clearly visible in their attitude, values, beliefs, music, dance, dress, objects, buildings and cuisines.

Serenity at Hunza valley:

Several high peaks rise above 6,000 metres (20,000 ft.) in the Hunza valley. The valley provides views of several tall mountains, including Rakaposhi 7,788 metres (25,551 ft), Ultar Sar 7,388 metres (24,239 ft.), Bojahagur Duanasir II 7,329 metres (24,045 ft), Ghenta Sar 7,090 metres (23,261 ft), Hunza Peak 6,270 metres (20,571 ft), Darmyani Peak 6,090 metres (19,980 ft), and Bublimating (Ladyfinger Peak) 6,000 metres (19,685 ft). A watch tower is located in heart of Ganish VillageBaltit Fort stands on top of Karimabad whereas Altit Fort lies somewhat lower down the.

Temperature:

Hunza  is known for its weather specially in the summar.  The temperature in July-August reaches a maximum of 31 °C in Central Hunza. However upper Hunza is comparatively cold.

Cuisines:

Hunza  is popular for its traditional cuisines, which are available at selected restaurants in Central Hunza and at a few hotels in Upper Hunza. In Central Hunza, you’ll come across abundant hotels to give your taste buds a treat.

Altit Fort:

Altit Fort  is an ancient fort at Altit town in the Hunza valley in Gilgit BaltistanPakistan. It was originally home to the hereditary rulers of the Hunza state who carried the title Mir, Shikari tower is around 1100 years old which makes it the oldest monument in the Gilgit–Baltistan.

Baltit Fort:

Baltit Fort  is an ancient fort in the Hunza valley in Gilgit-BaltistanPakistan. Founded in the 8th CE, it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative list since 2004.
